Studies in Bensheim until 2015.
studies of Protestant theology and history in Erlangen-Nuremberg, Zurich and
Munich, 1973-1976 assistance at the Kirchliche Hochschule in Berlin-Zehlendorf,
followed by pastoral work in Berlin-Neukölln until 1984. Doctorate at the
university in Kiel (1987).
Secretary of the Institute for Confessional Studies and General Secretary of
the Protestant Confederation (until 2015). Since
1997 responsible for the Christian free churches, since 2007 director of the
institute as well.
Lectureships at the Evangelische Fachhochschule
Darmstadt for historical theology (1994-2000) and at the Augustana Hochschule
Neuendettelsau for the history of the churches and dogmatics (focus on
confessional studies) from 2009 until 2018.
1982 married with Renate Bisten and father of three adult children.
